2.
Why did you start blogging?
I
absolutely loooooove all the amazing blogs out there! They are so inspiring.
After many years of stalking just about every blog I could find and discovering
so many amazing ideas, I decided that I wanted to take a crack at it. I really
enjoy sharing my kindergarten adventures with others and interacting with
fascinating teachers that I may never have known existed! It is my hope that my
little blog might inspire others too :) I am also a lover of words. I love
writing and blogging is such a fun outlet!
3.
Tell
us a little about your teaching background.
I
have been teaching kindergarten for 3 years now and I absolutely love it.
Every. single. part! I have taught all 3 of my years at the same small school
in Florida. The school I teach at is like one big family and I feel so
fortunate to be there. I got my job straight out of college. I actually started
teaching before I had even had my graduation ceremony. Nothing like jumping
right in :) It was beyond scary in the beginning, but fascinating to see how
quickly I learned the ropes. Kindergarten is certainly a crazy, exciting,
unexpected, fun, loving, and silly place to be, but being the big kid that I
am, it fits me just fine.
4.
What songs are
included on the soundtrack to your life?
OH my goodness,
I love music! I listen to it constantly and subject my students to music all
day, every day. They really seem to love it though! Some of my favorites (that
I don't play in my classroom - ha!) are anything by:
*Florence and
the Machine
*Imogen Heap
*Regina Spektor
*Aqualung
*Meiko
*Norah Jones
*Tegan &
Sarah
Just to name a
few!! Sorry, got a bit carried away.
5.
What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done?
Moving away
from my parents. Though they still live only 2 hours away, I miss them like
crazy!
6.
What’s your favorite TV show?
It's
a tie - Pretty Little Liars is so addicting. If you haven't watched it, you
must! I also love The Vampire Diaries (I know, the vampire thing is overrated,
but this show is awesome - I promise)
7.
Are you a Times New Roman or DJ Inkers kind
of girl and why?
I
am 100% a DJ Inkers girl. I am extremely detail oriented and like everything to
be pretty and visually appealing. This is why it takes me so long to complete
even the smallest task. I find myself making a to-do list and changing the font
at least 20 times when nobody sees it but me! Sigh!
8.
Number of candles that appeared on your last
birthday cake?
24
candles! But there will be 25 in just a few months - eeeek!
9.
What was the last book you read?
I
just finished reading Catching Fire - the second book in the Hunger Games
series. This series is unbelievably awesome! I love books that take me to a far
away place :)
10.
What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
FOLDING
LAUNDRY! Ew. I don't mind the washing and drying part, but when it comes to the
folding I am completely useless. I use my guest room to neatly hang my clothes
and lay them on the bed until I finally get to them (if I don't wear them again
first!)
I
want to say thank you so very much to Dana for having me here on her blog! I
greatly appreciate her kindness. I hope you'll take a moment to stop by my
blog, I would love to have some new visitors!

2.
Tell us about your blog and why you started
it.
I
started blogging last year as a way to let my parents know what was going on in
our classroom. I take a lot of pictures
of my kids to make a slide show at the end of the year. Since parents aren't with us every day, I
know they are curious what's going on. I
also wanted to share what I was doing in hopes that other teachers might get
ideas of what to do.
3.
Tell
us a little about your teaching background.
I
am in my 8th year of teaching! I taught
one year in 1st grade and then moved to the school where I am at now to teach
Kindergarten. I absolutely adore
Kindergarten!
4.
What songs are
included on the soundtrack to your life?
That's
a tough one. I am an 80s girl, but never
really considered any songs as my soundtrack.
I'll go with Halo by Beyonce it's
my husband's ringtone, Firework by Katy Perry - l always use this one as inspiration
and Forever Young by Rod Stewart for my sweet boys!
5.
What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done?
The hardest
thing I have ever done hands down was going through the National Board
Certification process. I spent countless
hours away from my children analyzing my every move in teaching and I was so
disheartened when I didn't achieve not once, but twice! When I finally got it on the 3rd try I cried
tears of joy!
6.
What’s your favorite TV show?
I
love anything reality! My favorites are
probably Teen Mom and Jerseylicious!
7.
Are you a Times New Roman or DJ Inkers kind
of girl and why?
DJ
Inkers. I despise Times New Roman...that
ugly a and g make me crazy :)
8.
Number of candles that appeared on your last
birthday cake?
29! I
will be 30 very very soon though!
9.
What was the last book you read?
I
would love to say I read something for myself, but it was definitely a Thomas
the Train book to my 3 year old!
10.
What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
DUSTING! I hate to dust...it makes my nose itch!
